Global Sports Bridge Launches Free Multilingual Coaching Series for South Asian Youth

Colombo, Sri Lanka — Global Sports Bridge (GSB), a rising leader in inclusive sports education, has officially launched a groundbreaking free coaching video series aimed at empowering youth coaches and athletes across South Asia and refugee communities.

The initiative, titled “Coaching for All: Foundations of Youth Sports”, features expert-led sessions in 10 languages including Sinhala, Tamil, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Bengali, Pashto, Farsi/Dari, Arabic, and English. The project is part of GSB’s wider commitment to making global-standard sports knowledge accessible to underserved regions.

“We believe a coach in rural Nepal, a PE teacher in northern Sri Lanka, or a volunteer in a refugee camp in Jordan deserves access to the same knowledge as a coach in London or Sydney,” said Anthony De Silva, founder of GSB. “This series is our step toward leveling that playing field.”

The video series covers key youth coaching topics such as:

  • Age-appropriate training techniques

  • Safety and injury prevention

  • Girls’ participation in sports

  • Coaching athletes with disabilities

  • Mental health and motivation

  • Building teamwork and respect through sport

The first phase of the series is available now through GSB’s online learning hub and will soon be offered as downloadable offline packs to accommodate low-connectivity areas.

The program has already drawn praise from educators and sports organizations in Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

“As a coach working in a post-conflict zone, I can’t express how valuable this is,” said Sharifa Malik, a youth leader from Kandahar. “We’ve never had this kind of content in our language, especially focused on girls in sport.”

GSB plans to expand the series with contributions from international experts in the UK, Australia, and the USA. The organization also welcomes volunteers who wish to help translate, teach, or share their coaching expertise.
